For the past month, a lot has happened.  A vicious tournament was held:  legions of deadly samurai and ninjas clashed on the top of a burning mountain to claim the title of best warrior.  Meanwhile, a hovercraft and speeding boat chased each other across the sea, blasting each other with miniguns and rocket launchers.

At least, that’s what’s been happening in my head.  Some written work is being done, little by little.  On one hand, Angel-Craft continued to be re-constructed, and this new draft definitely has a stronger focus and sounder plot structure than its first draft.  Perfectly Inhuman seems to swell bigger and broader, but continues to be a blast to work through.  Those two stories are my top-priority ones, but I’ve also dabbled in starting a couple of new stories and editing a couple of older ones.  I’ve also had a few short stories started (but sadly not finished yet).  There’s plenty being worked on, just as a slow, leisurely pace.

For the most part, my time has been spent working, spending time with friends and family, and some recreation.  A frenetic combination of all these things leaves little time for writing; I’m often more content to spend what free time I have watching oodles of films or playing a video game or something.  I’m not sure if I’m unmotivated, distracted, or if I’ve developed bad habits.

Fortunately, I have gotten past a few writing blocks that have troubled me before.  As spring time approaches and I start to feel newly re-energized, I hope to get more done.

An angel unleashes his power against an army of ruthless samurai; a scene from "Angel-Craft."

  1. I think you're doing great with writing only in your spare time. Your stories have a lot of
depth to them and being an artist myself, it's
not easy to just turn it on and off when you want
to. Go with the flo and don't worry about how long it takes to get it the way you want it. Good work, Al. I always love reading whatever you've written.
